Tuesday Made It!

 So this post is a day late BUT I wanted to share a little something I created and I LOVE!

So as a new teacher I need a calendar but I haven't found one that I really like. So with a little inspiration from Pinterest I created this beauty!

Here is how I did it :)

1. I went to the thrift store and bought this picture... I got the biggest frame I could find! It cost me 10 bucks which was pretty cheap for such a large frame!

2. I ran to Walmart and grabbed a bunch of paint chips, a foam brush, a poster board, double stick tape, and some paint.

3. I got to work! I painted the frame this lovely blue color. It needed a couple coats before it looked good.

4. Then I laid all the paint chips out and cut them down to a size where they would all fit on the poster board I bought (a regular size poster board fit perfectly inside this frame!) I then arranged all the paint chips lightest to darkest and taped them to the poster board using the double sided tape. 

5. Then I printed the days of the week and stuck them on. I then stuck it all in the frame and now can write on the glass with whiteboard marker! There you have it! It turned out really great :) I will probably put it above one of my short shelves in my room! Yay!

Five for Friday!

Whew! This week has flown! I am now done with my 3rd week teaching summer school! One more to go and here comes summer! I can't believe some of you are just finishing off the regular school year! 

Well, I've decided to participate in my first 5 for Friday Linky. I am VERY new in the blogging world so bear with me...

1. This week was my sweet husband's (and best friend's) birthday :) We both had to work so after I left the school I picked him up and we got his FAVORITE thing!

2. Then we drove home and he got to open these!

I was pretty excited about this paper! Is that rad or what??

3. Afterwards we drove downtown to our favorite little pizza joint :)

We tried their taco pizza! Which was delicious I must say.

4. And then we ate these beauties! He picked them out :) 

Cookie Cupcakes! 

We obviously didn't have candles... I should of thought of that before... But we improvised! 

5. We finished off the night just hanging out at home and we watched this show :) It's the Mr.'s favorite thing these days! 

It was a pretty fun filled night with all the Mr.'s favorite things :) I also think the whole day turned out pretty great! Highlight of my week for sure!

Fathers Day Project

For Fathers day this year we created these sweet little books :) They turned out so cute I just had to share :) The binding is colored washi tape I purchased from Target. The site explains how to create the book by cutting up cheap $1 photo albums,stapling the pages together, and binding them with the washi tape :) The kiddies were so excited about their books! Happy Fathers Day! You can download this freebie here.

Also, there is a free mothers day book, grandmother book, and grandpa book :)

Trip to the Zoo!

Today the kiddos & I took a field trip to the zoo :)  I wanted to share what we did to make our trip super fun! I created these awesome Zoo passports that I found here. 

I attached the strings so the kiddos could wear them around their necks while walking around the zoo. I also printed these lovely stickers on sticky label paper that I cut out. They loved being able to find each animal to get their passport stamp (or sticker). Thank you Disney Family for creating these freebies! We definitely enjoyed them today!

Hello Everyone! 

I am excited to start this new blog! I am a very excited first year teacher! I love teaching blogs so I thought... Why not create my own blog where I can share my own ideas, thoughts, etc? Well here I go! I hope I can be an inspiration like so many of the lovely ladies I follow :)
